ROADS cycle

Piotr Czajkowski is a graduate of Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, where since 1999 he has been working as a lecturer. In 2020 he obtained postdoctoral degree. The topic of his habilitation dissertation was a cycle of drawings and paintings called METRO.

In 2021 on Warsaw Art Fair the artist presented the painting called BASEL, which opens a new cycle entitled ROADS.

Artistic concept is rooted in the aesthetic ideas of METRO cycle the author has been working since 2012. Taking over objects existing in public space, the road signs, he confronts them in autonomic way with his elaborate painting and drawing aesthetic, constituting new artistic quality. Mainly the form of painting becomes modified. The concept of time and road stay unchangeable.

The works of Czajkowski are in private collections in Poland, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Great Britain, Japan and USA
